Favorites From NSale 2020

August 31, 2020 in

Hello. Mes Amies!
Happy Monday and happy last day of September. I'm another year older now! Yesterday was my birthday. The plan for today was we'd be waking up in Las Vegas and I'd be buying a new Louie Vuitton today.
Sigh.
Its just not responsible to be traveling at this point. In good conscience, we just didn't feel it was right to go,
Hopefully, soon.

Anyhow, yesterday was the last day of Nordstrom's Anniversary sale.  I made my purchases back on August 7.  So, I've had them for a few weeks now. I'm shocked at how last Nordstrom Shipped everything.

I'm not going to show you everything that I got. That would be boring.  However, I will show you what is turning out to be my favorites.   These are the things that I would suggest to a friend that she might want to invest in too.

1. Ralph Lauren Genuine Leather Jacket   Find It Here

So, I got this in black. I wanted a black leather jacket that wasn't a motojacket. I've got to say, the genuine leather is AMAZING. I'm sorry, vegans. My goodness though, the supple feel of the leather and that scent. No "faux leather" could compare.

2) Suede Open Toe Bootie  Find Them Here

These are the perfect transition piece as we go into autumn. They show that you are not stuck refusing to admit summer is over. (That is directed at me) The open toe and d'orsay side make it so that they are still cool enough to wear even if the temp is still up.

3) Dermaflash Peach Fuzz Remover     Find It Here

I love this thing so much that it warranted it's own blog post.
You actually get med spa results with this . Seriously, I don't know how I got by without it.

4) Twist neck Top  Find It Here

I love this shirt. Its so versatile, yet not basic due to the neck detailing.

5) Ugg Karolina Fleece Robe      Find it Here

I've never been a robe person per say. However, this has men changing my ways.
This is so soft, warm and snugly. I look forward to putting it on every night. I put it on as soon as I get out of bed in the morning too.

6) Kenzington Chelsea Bootie  Find It Here

A classic. This suede, black ankle bootie replaces a pair that served me well for the last 8 years.  They were starting to show their wear though, therefore they were retired. I brought in these and I'm LOVING them.

Okay, there ya have it. These are my favorites. What did you get at the Nsale?

XO,
SheShe

The Friday Five

August 28, 2020 in

Hello, Mes Amies! Happy Friday. One of the last of this all to quick to pass summer. Le sigh.

Anyway, I have a miserable sinus infection going on right now.

I am on antibiotics and hope I’m feeling better by this weekend. A) Because my birthday is Sunday and B ) because I want to start showing you guys some fall outfit inspiration.

I shopped the NSale HARD this year. Most of my things have come in. It is time to start putting together outfits!

Anyhow, for today please be content with this “Friday 5”. As ways, I’d love to see your answers too!

 This was the 1st delivery

1. How closely do you think good manners are related to income and social status?

Oh boy, I’m sure I’ll get some blow-back here, but I do believe that there is sometimes a correlation between the two. That’s not to say that a wealthy person cannot be rude, of course they can. What I mean though is certain things that are acceptable in some circles and not others. Take for example someone who licks their fingers in lieu of using a napkin. This was a slogan for a fast food chain. However, you think for even a second that this behavior would be welcomed in a Michelin starred, fine dining restaurant? Of course, it would not.

2. Can the idea of good manners inhibit people's natural sense of fun and inhibition?

Perhaps. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. Have laughs and a good time is great. However, these things should not come at the expense of someone else. Jokes about religion or ethnicity immediately come to mind here.

3. Do people have more manners now or in earlier times?

Earlier times, no doubt. As a society, we’ve become far more relaxed. By and large, I think this is for the better. However, I really do wish that we could go back to old fashioned manners. For example, if someone says “Thank You” to you, your response should be “You’re welcome, my pleasure  or an enthusiastic de-nada!”   “Emmm-Hmmm and Yup” are not okay responses.

4. Do you say "hi" to people even if they are strangers? Why? Why not?

If it’s not awkward, I do. Why not? Why be closed off? Strangers are just friends that you have not met yet.

5. Do you listen to other's people conversations on the street?

No, creepy. I do love to watch their body language though. People watching has always been so interesting to me.

That is it! Happy weekend friends! Next time we talk, I’ll be another year older.

Dermaflash Obsessed

August 26, 2020 in

Hello Mes Amies!
Happy hump day.
So today, we are taking serious business. Yes, friends we are discussing the Dermaflash

Exfoliation & Peach Fuzz Removal Device.

Aka... Dermaplaining.  We have talked in depth about dermaplaing before. You Can Read That Here

The quick overview is dermaplaing is removing the peach fuzz along with the dead skills directly under them. This process gives you many benefits. A smoother makeup application and better absorption of your skin care products.
A few key points before anyone asks....NO, THIS WILL NOT MAKE YOU GROW FACIAL HAIR. If you don't believe me, ask any dermatologist. Removing the peach fizz will not make you look like teen-wolf.
Also... Yes, you do have enough peach-fuzz for it to need to be removed. Hard truth, I know. We all have it though. It doesn't matter how light your hair is. Mine was pure white. Still, my face looks 500% now that I know about dermaplaining than it ever did when I was leaving that peach fuzz in place.

Okay, now that we have that out of the way. Dermaplaining is SO worth it. It gets very costly though. Where I live, its $125/session.
I've bought scalpels done it at home. While I have a steady hand, its still a nerve wracking experience, and not one that I'd recommend that you do.

When I saw that Nordstrom  was selling this gizmo at its Anniversary Sale, I thought "Why not give it a try?" If I didn't like it, I knew I could return it.

Girllllllllll, This is NOT going back. In fact, you couldn't pry this from me if you had to. I don't know how I got through 20+ years of adulthood without it.
You guys, this literally gives med-spa results. It looks as if I just walked out of the astetician's office.

This do-dad is so easy to use and is rechargeable.
The company claims that you need to change the blade after each use. Personally, I disagree with that summation. Although, I do sterilize the blade after each use.

I cannot recommend this enough. Remember, this is not an income generating blog. I do not get a commission.  This tool is just THAT GOOD.

Purchase It Here  Before 8/30/2020 for a huge discount.

Weeknight Chicken Parm Pasta

August 24, 2020 in

Welcome to a new week, mes amies.  I hope that everyone had a fantastic weekend. We are back to the grind now.
Weeknight meals always make me feel as if I have to walk a tight rope between healthy and something I can get made in under an hour. I don't want to have to sacrifice nourishment for quick and easy.
I was very excited when i found a 1/2 hour start to finish recipe for Chicken Parm Pasta.  It came out pretty good. I made a few adaptations that make it great in my humble opinion.
The pasta doesn't even need to be pre-cooked. How awesome is that? Also, you never turn your oven on, just the broiler.
Again, no long, drawn out story before the recipe. Who has time for that?

Ingredients:

 - 6 TBS of EVOO- divided

- 4 Fresh basil leaves, chopped

- Small onion, Minced

4 garlic cloves, minced, divided

- 1 Box of Penne Pasta

1 (28-ounce) can crushed Cento crushed tomato ( Cento tomatoes really have the best flavor)

2 teaspoons table salt, divided

- 1 1/2 C panko bread crumbs

- 2TBS Red Pepper Flakes

- 2 1/2 C shredded whole milk mozzarella cheese

- 1 Large rotisserie chicken, skin and bones discarded, meat shredded into bite-size pieces (3 cups)

Steps :

Heat 4 tablespoons oil in Dutch oven over medium heat until shimmering. Add onion and three-quarters of garlic and cook until softened, about 4 minutes. Add pasta, tomatoes, water, 1¾ teaspoons salt, and pepper flakes and bring to boil. Reduce heat to medium; cover; and simmer until pasta is tender, about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Meanwhile, combine panko, remaining olive oil, remaining garlic, and remaining salt in bowl. Microwave until golden brown, 2 to 3 minutes in 30 second intervals stirring each time; set aside.

Adjust oven rack to middle position and heat broiler. Stir chicken into pasta and sprinkle ½ of the panko on top, then top the panko with the mozzarella . Broil until mozzarella is melted and spotty brown, about 5 minutes.  Pull out from under the broiler, sprinkle with remaining panko mixture and chopped basil, serve.

30 minutes start to finish. Delicious and healthy. What more could we ask for?

Hi there! Happy almost weekend!
I often try to use the weekends as a time to do my beauty treatments. Whether it be doing a sunless tan application or a deep conditioning treatment on my hair.
This past weekend I continued on with the beauty treatments. I did a salon grade protein treatment.
I did this because I had been reading about how curly hair benefits exponentially from a protein treatment.  However, this is not just for the curlies of the world. You will benefit from a protein treatment if any of the following apply to you.

  • You highlight your hair
  • You bleach your hair
  • You heat style frequently
  • Your hair doesn't seem to grow past a certain length
  • You notice hair breakage

So, if any of that applies to you, listen up because this post if for you.
A protein treatment can work wonders. However, you must do it correctly.

After you wash your hair , you apply it then comb it from root to end immediately. Once you do that, you do not touch it. You let it sit and completely harden. Once it is completely hardened, you rinse it out. Do not comb it, do not brush it, nothing. Just rinse it thoroughly. This process with take several minutes, that's normal.
After you rinse it, follow up with a deep conditioner for 2-10 minutes. You can use any deep conditioner that you want, just so long as it is a moisturizing conditioner. Steer clear of anything that says "Repairing" or anything like that. That means more protein. You have already loaded your hair with protein. Now, you need to balance it with moisture.

While this is SO good for your hair, its a "once and awhile" treatment. This is NOT for weekly use. Use it no more than once every 6 weeks. Using it more often than that can do more harm than good.

If you'd like to see if protein will help your hair before going out and purchasing these products, you are in luck.

Go get a box of unflavored gelatin from your grocery store. Its very inexpensive.

Mix one packet with warm water and apply to damp hair. Leave it on for 30-45 minutes. Rinse then follow up with a conditioner.
If you hair seems to respond to this, go out and get the Aphogee treatment.   Find It Here

Okay, there you have it it!

Have a great weekend!

SheShe

Happy Hump day, Mes Amies.
How is this week treating you so far?
It's been a bit since we've done a chatty type of post.  I thought that today might be a fine time to do one.
It seems as if nowadays, no matter who you are, you will have "haters" or toxic people in your life.
Now, is different from things at any other point in time? No. However, in bygone times folks seemed to understand that they were not going to like everyone and everyone wasn't going to like them . Now, it seems that there is an undercurrent of self importance in our society. "If I dislike someone its because they are the problem." Some people lack the maturity to be able to say "Eh, they just aren't my cup of tea."

You'll see this everywhere. A celebrity posts a picture to Instagram, and the trolls come out.  Not that anyone should be subjected to this nonsense. However, celebrities choose to live in the public eye.

What we are talking about today is when you as an ordinary, everyday person are having your posts get screen-shot by your hostile neighbor. Or having to ,listen to snide comments from your bestie's roommate, or the side-eyed glances from another mom at the playground.

Point 1:
Haters are always coming from a place beneath you.
Think about it. Someone who is "ahead" or "above" where you currently are, is not looking back or down at you and criticizing you. When someone is worse off than you, you don't have hate for them. Indifference or pity, for sure. Not hate though.
One of my best friend's is a fitness model . (Not an IG model, but an actual model who has an agency that represents and a portfolio of paying clients.)
When she posts to her IG, she gets strong words of encouragement from other, more established models.
Who leaves her rude comments? The women who cannot hold a candle to her, that's who.

Point 2:
Ask yourself "Would I want to change lives with this person"?
When someone is being openly hostile or aggressive toward you, click on their page (if on line) and see what their life is all about. I pretty much can guarantee you right now, you would not swap places with them if you life depended upon it. (See point #1).
For example, if someone is coming at me, I check out their page. If I see they have been single for 8 years, live in a dumpy rental, while I'm happily married and my hubby and I are loving life in our beautiful house. That toxic person who is coming at me will literally not be able to rattle my cage.  Why? because their way of coming at life obviously would never give the type of results that I want for my life.

Point #3:
Let them learn from you. No, really. You know that they are already watching you. So, hopefully they will not only watch, but watch and learn.
Are they always angry? Hopefully, they will see how your good attitude does so much more for you than their hostility does for them.

Point #4:
Let them teach you valuable lessons, lessons of who NOT to be.
It can be something as deep as this other person serving as a reminder as to how you never , ever want to treat others. Or, someone might only be good for serving as a reminder to use your bleaching trays ..
Ewwwwwwww......

But really though, there is something to be learned from everyone. Its just a matter of finding what it is.

Okay, that is it for today. What deals have you had with haters?

SheShe

August Favorites

August 17, 2020 in ,

Happy New Week, Mes Amies!
How in the world is it that there is only 2 weeks left in August 😢??

Anyhow, I wanted to share my monthly round up of things that I'm loving this month. As you may have already deducted, its scaled back this month. This is in line with how I've reduced my consumption.  Like I have stated before, I literally have enough apparel to wardrobe 5 women. I'm making a daily effort to choose NOT to shop.
Anyhow though, there are a few things I wanted to share.

You guys, its so soft, so well made and so comfortable. It comes in multiple other prints as well.

If I had discovered this earlier in the season, I'd of purchased it in other colors as well. Its under $25. Its cool and breezy, its perfect for this unusually hot summer.

Yup, we are going there. We are discussing underwear.  This Amazon Brand 3 Pack
Gals, you need to order these, now. They truly are "no show" . No matter what type of bottoms I am wearing, these show no panty lines, none at all. They are $15 for a three pack. Other undies similar to this (but not as good) , cost me $20/each.

Lastly, the stuff responsible for my best hair day yet. Oribe Curl Gloss
Of course my hair has caviar taste, of course it does. I've tried so many different products. None gave me results like this. Defined, frizz free curls without being weighted down or crunchy.

See the results below, along with the top we discussed earlier 😊.

So, do you have any favorite purchases from this month?

The Friday Five

August 14, 2020 in

Happy Friday, Mes Amies!  I cannot believe that after today there are only two Friday's left in August. Yes, I know I'm basic, but no, I'm not "Excited for fall."  Especially this year, due to covid.
Anyhow, this isn't a debbie downer post.
Today, is a Friday 5 post, it's been a minute!
Without any further babbling, let's make a start. Today's topic is cleaning and orginazation.

1. What's the most cluttered spot in your home?

Well, it was my closets, but I've been putting a LOT of work in there. I still have a lot more to do (purge, purge, purge). I hope to finish them this weekend.

2. What's your method for decluttering?

I went into great detail on this very topic last fall! Read That Here .  Essentially  what I do, i get three large boxes. A "keep" ,  "Donate" and "Maybe".  Having the "Maybe" box really speeds things up , as it takes away the indecisiveness.

3. What are your favorite cleaning products?
Oh boy, how long do you have?   ðŸ˜‚  Here are a few:

- Clorox  foam bleach bathroom cleaner
- Mr. Clean Magic Erasers
- Soft Scrub
-Pinesolve lemon floor cleaner
-Mr. Clean Clean Freak
-Fantastic multi-surface cleaner
- Dawn Spray soap
-Oxy Clean

4. What helps get you motivated to clean up?

I cannot deal with clutter and messes.

5. What's the most organized spot in your home?

My kitchen. I cook often. I cook more complex dishes that require more than a pan and spatula in order to prepare. I have to have access to all of my tools and gadgets at all times.

Plus, its the room that you walk into when you enter my home.  Its got to be neat and tidy.

There you have it, another Friday Five, and week in the books.

What are your plans for this weekend?

Be safe & Have fun!

Happy hump day, Mes amies! How is this week treating you so far?

By accident I discovered the secret formula to get the SMOOTHEST legs EVER. I'm talking about legs that feel softer than anything you've ever experienced as an adult. Also, they will be glossy.  Yep, that's a thing Read About That Here.

What's great about  this is that the four products involved are all super inexpensive.

Okay first things first.  The Billie Razor. This is hands down, unequivocally the most important part of this. The Billie razor is unbelievable. I've never in my life had a shave like this before. In fact, I wrote an entire post dedicated to how amazing it is. You Can Read That Here
I cannot strongly enough suggest that you get this razor. Buy It Here
Aside from how much better it is than any other razor, its also WAY LESS EXPENSIVE.

So, once you have shaved with your Billie Razor, you will b e moving onto step two.

Exfoliating With Dove Exfoliating Body Polish    Find It Here   $5.99
This exfoliator gives my skin new life. It sloughs off all of the dead , dry skin cells. I have tried so many different exfoliation scrubs over the years. This one is the best. Its so effective, it doesn't make your shower more slippery and its so cheap.

After you exfoliate, wash using your favorite body wash and do the rest of your normal shower routine.
When you get out, towel dry. Then mix together equal parts Vaseline Healing Calm Lotion Find It Here  and Vasaline CoCo Radient Body oil (Its a gel not a true oil)  Find it here .

Don't skimp on these, use enough to through;y cover your skin. Don't worry, they are both fast absorbing.
There you go, its that simple. Everything here is under $10.00 at the time of writing.
If this makes my extraordinarily dry skin feel so hydrated and baby soft, it will work wonders for you, I promise!

XO,
SheShe

Welcome to a new week, Mes Amies!
So, on Friday I was able to shop Nordstrom's Anniversary sale. I was invited to come in early and shop in store and be filmed! Because of work obligations, I was not able to take advantage of that amazing offer.
However, I was able to early shop on Friday. I'm going to share with you a few of my favorites. Mind you, some of these things might be cancelled, meaning I do not get them.  However, I'm hopeful!

I have a couple black leather moto jackets. However, I wanted to add a non- moto version to my closet. This one by Ralph Lauren jumped out at me!

If you have never owned a pair or Born boots, you don't know what you are missing. They are so comfortable and so incredibly well made.

The brand loved by Megan Markel. If they are good enough for her, they are good enough for me!

I cannot stress to you strongly enough how AMAZING this lash serum is. I regularly get asked "Who does your extensions?" I don't have extensions , I have this wonder serum. Before I started using this, nobody complimented me on my lashes. They were average at best. Now, they are SO long and SO thick, all because of this.

What can I say? The cold weather will be here soon enough. You'll catch me in this as I'm sipping on my latte.

It fits in PERFECTLY with my kitchen. Sold!

Seriously though, how pretty is this?

Aside from how on point hats are this season, they are perfect for still looking out together in bad weather or a bad hair day.

There you have it, my favorites from the sale. Be sure to check out this sale. The deals really are phenomenal. Its not summer clearance, its the new fall winter merchandise.
Use this as a chance to get some Christmas shopping done. You'll be thankful come December when you are not running around!

 SheShe
