It's almost the 20's!

December 30, 2019 in

Oh my goodness, its not only almost a New Year, but it's almost a new decade.
I'm so ready for it, what about you?
You know my analogy that I've referenced before that each sunrise should bring you hope and each sunset you leave you feeling content?

I think NYE and NYD are exactly like that too. I hope that tomorrow leaves you feeling content and that Wednesday has you filled with hope.

I'm not one for Resolutions, that sounds too harsh and final for me. I do like the idea of putting "New Years Intentions" out there though. Here are a few intentions that I have for 2020.

1) Cook my way through "The Silver Palate" Cookbook
A month or so ago, my beloved Aunt Gini gave me her copy of "The Silver Palete" cookbook. This is a classic cookbook that came out in 1982. It has stood the test of time and is just as current today as it was when it first came out in 1982. If you too are a foodie, you can PURCHASE IT HERE

2) Take more road trips with my hubby
That past summer, Chad and I started doing day trips. We had a blast. We saw new things and got to spend so much quality time together.

3) Keep working on my French

All through junior high and high school, I took French and loved it. Then, I just sort of forgot about it. as an adult I regretted that I hadn't kept with it.
Earlier this year, I discovered Duolingo.com . Its a free service that teaches you a new language at your pace. I was shocked at how quickly it all came back to me. Now, I'm at a level that is higher than I'd ever been before. Seeing and hearing it right on my phone makes it just "click."

4) Continue on my "Curly Girl" journey

This one might sound trivial or vein. its not though, I assure you that.
Learning first to accept and now love my natural curls has taught me so much about self acceptance and self love. It might sound silly, but it's been SO liberating to accept that my hair (and self) is better than fine and does NOT need to be changed.
Where I spent 21 years straightening my hair, it for sure has had many "awkward" days since going back to the curls. It would of been easier to just say "the heck with it!" and grab my flat iron. I won't do it though. The last time I used a flat iron was June 2, 2019. No turning back now.

5) Try some of the classes at my gym
As social as I am, I'm a loner at the gym. I like to put my ear pods in, immerse myself in 90's hip hop and workout-solo.
I need to freshen it up. Bill raves about all of the classes that are offered to us free of charge. So, that my plan, try some classes. If I find that I still prefer to workout solo, than so be it, at least I'll know.

Okay, there you have it, my New Years intentions.
What about you? What do you want to accomplish in the new year?

See you in 2020!!!

SheShe
