Jump(suit) for my love!

July 19, 2019 in

Happy summer Friday, dear-hearts!
We are going into the weekend , so I thought now would be a good time to talk about jumpsuits.

In the summer of 2011, rompers started becoming a thing. Now, 8 years later it's "big sister", the jumpsuit is having a moment.

For years upon years, "Jumpsuit" conjured up thoughts of something bad from the 1970's. Polyester, bell -bottoms, the whole 9 yards.

Check out Sonny Bono's jumpsuit.  I know it was a different time, but Cher's getup has me cringing even though I'm pretty sure there was no ill intent behind it.

Moving on, there is no doubt that the jumpsuit is very on trend now. I wore one to work just yesterday.
While out and about, I had two ladies at the bank tell me how they loved it, but could never pull one off themselves.
Horse feathers, I said! If I can wear one, so can you. Just like with a dress, you just need to take into account your body type and go from there.

You can find jumpsuits that are a formal and an eye catching alternative to a dress. You can also find casual jumpsuits that are more comfortable than your best PJ's.

This gorgeous creature is red carpet ready.

When choosing which accessories to wear with your jumpsuit, the rule I follow is to pretend its a dress.
If this jumpsuit didn't have pants , but was a dress, what shoes would I wear? Which necklace would look best? I go at it that way.

You can just throw on a jumpsuit and go. That's the beauty of one  garment dressing.

Before anyone chimes in with "But going to the restroom is AWFUL in a jumpsuit!!"
Its no different than wearing pants. You are just pulling your clothes down from a higher point. That said, don't wear one with a zipper in the back, unless you can reach said zipper.
The majority of the jumpsuits that I own, are pull-on, no zippers involved!

If you want to dip your toe into the jumpsuit waters, you can find them EVERYWHERE now.
Until you know that you like them and how the feel/look on you, don't spend a lot on one.
Target and Venus, both have a very large selection of reasonably priced ones.

So, what do you think? Do you own a jumpsuit? Would you?

Have a safe and fun weekend!
