Let's get acquainted

February 18, 2019 in

From some reason, unbeknownst to me you folks have been subscribing like crazy here. ( side note.. I get notified with each new subscription. However, it does not give me the name or email of who subscribed. If it did, you better believe that I'd be thanking each and every one of you! XO) I'm giddy and humbled.
I really thought that when I was "strongly encouraged" to start this blog by the company that sends me makeup to test, I really thought that Lisa & my mom would be the only readers of it. While I'm shocked thrilled that, that is not the case, I realize that if you don't know me in real life, I haven't shared much about who I am on here.
I accessed a random question generator on line, so lets do this!

  1. Are you an introvert or an extrovert?
Oh my gosh, they started with an easy one. EXTROVERT!  I love people. I love to talk to people, I love to hear about their children, where they last went on vacation , etc.
I'm married to an introvert. When we go to a party or other social gathering, he's tired when we get home. Even if we had a great time, he'll need to recharge. Me on the other hand, I'm so jazzed up when I come home from being surrounded by others.

 2. Where do you live?
Plymouth, Massachusetts. Where the Pilgrims landed in 1620 and where Thanksgiving began. There are no words to express exactly how much I love it here.
From my porch, I hear the horns from the ships as they are leaving the harbor for the day. on overcast nights (In the spring/fall) I'll open up our bedroom window and fall asleep listening to the fog horn.

 3. Sun rise or sunset?
Ahhh. Both are lovely. However, for me its sun rise, hands down. There is just something about "The dawn of a new day" that I just embrace. I watch the sunrise every day with Decoy and Bandit (My rescue dogs). There is something so metaphoric with a sunrise. Its like God is reminding us that no matter how dark the time before might be, the light will always break through that darkness.

 4. What is one thing you will never do again?
Be a source of narcissistic supply. Nope, no way , no how.
I appreciate love and tranquility far too much to ever let another narcissist try to interrupt it with their crazy making and manufactured drama.

  5. What do you feel passionate about?
Animal Rescue. In this country, 5,000 healthy dogs and cats are killed EACH AND EVERY DAY in our broken "shelter" system. This HAS to change. We cannot consider ourselves civilized people if we allow this.
Getting a pet is a lifetime commitment. If you are unable or unwilling to make a lifetime commitment, you are not in the place to get a pet. I've volunteered in rescue for over 10 years now, I'll be volunteering in rescue until my heart beats for the very last time.

6. What is your relationship status?
I'm happily married to the best person that I know. I've heard countless times "Marriage is Hard". I just haven't experienced that myself. While life can certainly be hard at times, having the right person at your side makes even the hard times more bearable.

7. What is an unexpected fact about you?
I'm a HUGE World War II buff. Every aspect of it is hugely fascinating to me. It was the ultimate fight of good versus evil.

 8.  What is something that everyone else likes that you hate?
Anything and everything Disney. I've always hated Disney. I remembering being 5 or 6 years old and choosing to act up (I was typically a very easy child according to my mom) so we'd HAVE to leave the theater when she brought me to see "Sleeping Beauty".  When I was 10 or 11 and would get asked to a sleep over, I'd have to make sure there was no plans to watch "Aladdin" or "The Little Mermaid".

  9. What is your biggest fear?
Snakes. Holy heck, I'm TERRIFIED of them. Just seeing pictures of snakes causes my heart to pound and my hands to shake. While I'd NEVER,EVER intentionally harm any animal, I want nothing to do with snakes. Nope, not even those "harmless little garter snakes."

 10. What is your favorite season?
Summer allllll the way! I love the heat. I love the 9pm sunsets. I love the feel of salty air on my skin, I love the 4th of July.

 11. What is your favorite holiday?
The 4th of July. I could go on and on as to why.

  12. What’s your biggest pet peeve?
People who snap their gum or talk with a mouth full of food. Both gross me out to no end.

13. Name a LEAST favorite of each.. food, drink, month and color?
Sushi , Any hard alcohol, March and green.

 14. What do you spend most of your disposable money on?
Dog rescue, clothing, and makeup

  15. What would you most like to learn and why?
To play golf. It looks so relaxing and fun all at the same time. Its guaranteed hours outside and I love the clothing.

 16.  Do you believe in soul mates?
Very much so.

  17. What are you most thankful for?
My husband, our dogs, our home, my mom, my mother in law, my job, my health.

 18.  What are your guilty pleasures?
Binge watching the Mary Tyler Moore Show (Young women NEED to watch this show) and  Squinny's pizza.

 19. How do you feel about sharing your password with your partner?
Yea, why not? Like Dr. Phil says "people who have nothing to hide, hide nothing."

20.  Do you believe in astrology?
Ha. NO. Sorry, but I think its complete nonsense. I don't even know my sign or care enough to look it up.
if people like to read their horoscope for fun, that is harmless. However, when you start making actual life decisions based on that stuff... Nope.

So, wow if you made it this far, I'm seriously impressed. Is there anything I missed that you'd like to know?
I'd love to hear your answers too!

Get this week off to a phenomenal week!

XO,
Sheila
