Five On Friday

Well hello:

Today, I Have some new beauty "Can't live without it" to share with you. Since its Friday and there are 5 products, we'll call this "Five on Friday". Okay, lets get to the goods!

1) Ouai Detox Shampoo

For years, I thought that clarifying shampoos were only for people with oily hair .

While folks with oily hair certainly do benefit from clarifying shampoo, they are not the only people who benefit from them.  I use this once per month, typically before a deep conditioning. This removes all of the build up from styling products that accumulate over time. Not only does that build up make your hair look dull, but it makes it much harder for conditioner to penetrate your hair's shaft. Doing a clarifying wash makes it so all of your other products can work better.

2) Murad Essential C SPF

Vitamin C is the anti-aging bookend to retins, in my opinion. Both work on their own, but paired together that pack quite the punch.
I've tried using other vitamin c products before, I always found them to be irritating. Not the case with this one though. It is a moisturizer and SPF 30 all in one. This product is a work horse.

A review on Sephora's website called this brush a "magic wand". That is the perfect description.
This blends my foundation better than anything that I've eve used. It makes my foundation look as if its not even there.

While we are talking about foundation, I HAVE to mention my new foundation obsession. Makeup Forever HD skin. Its cliché but "Your skin only better" is what this is alllllll about. Easily ,this is the best foundation I've ever used.

I'm uploading an unedited selfie that I just took to show how good this looks.

I have yet to be let down by a product from Olaplex. So, when I saw they had a styling serum out, I had to buy it. I've been using this for about a month now. Its WONDERFUL.  It makes styling my hair easier and faster. My hair has more bounce and shine.

Well, that's it for today!
Here are the best sales of this weekend:

Nordstrom New Markdowns      (Tory Burch Miller is on here!!)

XO,

Hello!

About 2 weeks ago I received my order from Sephora's VIB rouge sale.

I shop this twice yearly sale in two ways. The first way is that I use it to stock up on my tried and true favorites. These are my "plow-horse" products that I use on the regular. The other way I shop this sale is that I use the 20% to try new products that I have had my eye on. Often, these might be items or tools that are on the more expensive side.

Today, I'm going to show you the new products that I decided to try out. I did include one product that I have ordered over and over again in this post. That's because it is SUCH a game changer that I feel I really should share it again for anyone who is new here.

With no further ado, lets get to the goodies!

This is a silky smooth highlighter. It gives a natural, dewy finish. It makes your skin look as if it has a "soft-focus" filter on it.

Where has this product been my whole life? WOW! Its a non-transfer LONG lasting lip tint. If you are around my age, you might remember those 10+ hour lipsticks from the early '00's. While they did last, the looked like hell. They were thick and matte, they cracked and made your lips look so dry.
This is NOT like those at all. Why it lasts all day, its very natural looking. Think your lips, only better.

True story...as soon as I used this, I went and ordered the other two colors that it comes in.
This is the most natural looking blush that I have ever used. Also, if applying blush is something you struggle with, this is the product for you. The application is nearly fool proof.

This is a new favorite of mine. This is a rinse-out, once weekly gloss treatment. This makes my hair so high shine! Seeing how coarse my hair is, this is no small feat. This product also fights frizz and fortifies hair to prevent against future damage.

If you like the look of the 90's supermodel blowout, you NEED these. More people need to know about rollers. They give you body & shine all with a very simple application technique. These are not anywhere near as damaging as curling irons or flat irons.
What I like about these rollers specifically is their size. Most drug store roller sets come with much smaller rollers.  Those can make for a very dated look. These however provide nothing but bounce and shine.

Here is the one time and true that makes this list. These peel pads are like a mini-facial. I use these 1-2 times per week, its all I need. These help to clear out the junk in my pores. They smooth my skin and help to eliminate fine lines. They also make my other products absorb better. At one point, these were sold out. I went 3 weeks without being able to use them. The difference (for the worse) that I saw in my skin was utterly staggering.

There you have it, my favorites from this year's sale. If you are intrigued by any of these, I suggest you give them a try!

XO,

Spring Look Book

April 13, 2022 in ,

Hello!

Even here in chilly old New England, spring has sprung. The grass is green again and everything is blooming.

This is the time of year when I just LOVE refreshing my wardrobe. Maybe its because I'm a summer girl through and through, but buying sweaters and boots will never be as exciting as when I get to add sandals and sundresses into my wardrobe.

Here are a few things that I have just added to my closet and am absolutely loving. I think you might love them too!

These just might be my new favorite shoes. They look so good on, and they are as comfortable as can be. The look good dressed up, and they look good dressed down...

Now that I'm coloring my hair (As opposed to highlighting it), I know that I have to conscious to protect these costly color jobs from the sun. This hat is light weight and stylish. Its the perfect summer accessory.

Let me go on the record right now to say that in my opinion, Nordstrom brand clothing are some of the best made clothes out there. These pants are no exception. They are wide and flowy. They work at the office or out and about. Full disclosure, I had to have these taken up a bit. However, that is a ME issue.

This dress....where to start? I could talk about how comfortable it is. I could talk about how flattering it is. I could talk about the price...only $21!! The thing is, I could about this dress all day!

I had no intention of buying a new perfume. I ran into Ulta for a new lipstick. I ran into a friend who was in the perfume section. AS soon as I smelled this, I HAD to have it. Think warm floral meets sophisticated vanilla. This is not the vanilla scent of those awful middle school era body sprays. This is a cosmopolitan, grown up vanilla. Its truly enchanting.

Another inexpensive find that delivers. This top is a versatile piece that will help you transition from spring into summer.

These are my favorites so far of this season. What are yours?

XO,
